Enrollment Process

~Re-Enrollment For our current students for the 24.25 school year begins April 1, 2024~

open enrollment for new students begins may 1, 2024

Please read over the follow steps if you are interested in enrolling your child in one of our Montessori programs.

When you have decided to pursue enrolling your child in our Toddler or Primary classroom here at Maine Mountain Children’s House, it’s time to begin the enrollment process. We occasionally have an open space within one of our classrooms mid-year, but typically we begin Open-Enrollment on May 1st for the following school year.

1. Contact our Director

The first step in the enrollment process is contacting our Director via email or phone to find out more about our program and see if we have space within one of our classrooms. If our classrooms are full at the time you contact us, we will offer to add your child’s name to our waitlist.

2. Send in the Registration Form, Admissions Information Form, and Application Fee

The next step is to fill out and send in the Admissions Information form and the Registration form for the classroom in which you intend to enroll your child, along with a non-transferable, non-refundable $50.00 application fee made out to Maine Mountain Children’s House. The forms can be found in the Admissions portion of our website (Toddler Admissions or Primary Admissions), and can be emailed to us or sent to 36 Salem Road, Kingfield, Maine, 04947.

3. Come visit us!

Parent/Guardian Visit: Once we have received your forms and application fee, we will set up a time for you to visit our school. The first visit should be just parents/guardians so they can get a feel for the environment and have time to talk with the Director and/or teachers. Together the parents/guardians and the Director will decide if MMCH is a good fit for your family, and then we will invite your child to come visit our classrooms as well.

Child visit: We love to have your child(ren) visit our classroom and spend some time with one of our teachers before they officially enroll in one of our programs. When we set up a time for your child to visit our classroom, we hope to get some one-on-one time with them as they explore the materials and meet some of the other children. We typically plan for about one hour on a week-day morning.

4. Here we go!

The final step in the enrollment process is when both the Director and the family have decided that MMCH is the right place for the child. Enrolling with our school is a big commitment for the child, staff, and parents, and that’s why we take all these steps to make sure we’re doing what’s right for all of us! From here, you may send in the additional items in the admissions packet (Enrollment Contract, Emergency Contact form, and Permission Slip, as well as up-to-date immunization records) and we will make plans for your child’s first day of school with us.
